Mr. and Mrs. Donald Havlicek, Charles Havlicek, Sr., and two other couples from the Neillsville area, spent last week on a fishing trip to Canada. They returned home Friday with a good catch of fish. Darla and Donnie Havlicek, children of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Havlicek, stayed with their grandmother, Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.

Mrs. Oliver Williams and grandson, LaVern Vandeberg of Wisconsin Rapids, called recently at the Ralph Short home.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kapfer of Janesville spent a weekend recently at the Ralph Short home.

John McNeil, son of Mrs. Delores McNeil of Streamwood, Il., and a friend spent a couple of weeks on a camping trip to Canada and Hatfield, and also camped at John’s uncle’s, Donald Havlicek, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.

Daily Vacation Bible School was held at Cannonville Church last week, with around 15 pupils in attendance. They had a program at the church Friday.

Dr. and Mrs. Ell (Skip) Lee and family of Green Bay spent a weekend with her mother, Mrs. Harry Kissling, and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kissling.

Mrs. Wanda Pretsch and son, Earl, visited their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short, Tuesday evening last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids were dinner guests Tuesday of his mother, Mrs. Chris Feutz, and supper guests of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vine.

Mrs. Albert Lincoln called Friday at the Mr. Art Odell home.

The A.M.P.I. local meeting was held at the Methodist Church last week Thursday night with several members from this area in attendance.

The Busy Three 4-H club girls served cheese at the Neillsville bank Friday night, sponsoring dairy products for June Dairy Month.

Mr. and Mrs. Billie Kuhn of Boynton Beach, Fla., spent the month of June with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kuhn, and attended the weddings of his brothers, Kenneth and Edward.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bartlett of Pittsburg, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. George Kuhn of Jackson, Mich., Mrs. Michael Steffens of Chicago, and Mr and Mrs. Hallie Schultz of Omro, recently attended the wedding of their nephew, Edward Kuhn, to Jane Meier.

This community was greatly shocked Friday by the sudden death of Billie Hanson, 34, of Marshfield, who was killed in his car near Necedah, where it was employed. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hanson of this vicinity and was raised here and attended Shortville School.
