Jenni, Werner (23 June 1901 - 2 July 1973)
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church for Werner Jenni, 72, who died July 2 at his home in Neillsville. The
Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jenni was born June 23, 1901, in Tuhn, Switzerland, and was educated there.
After coming to the United States he worked on farms and operated cheese
factories in Wisconsin and in Iowa.
His marriage to the former Blanch Krause took place August 28, 1923, in Granton.
Mrs. Jenni preceded her husband in death on February 24 of this year.
The Jenni’s returned to Neillsville in 1937 and he operated service stations and
a restaurant for several years. Together with his son, Mr. Jenni operated a
feeder pig business for the years preceding his retirement in 1964. He was a
member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Myron (Lorraine) Payne of Milwaukee; a son,
Roland Jenni of Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Rose Borth of Chicago, Il.; two
brothers, Emil Jenni of Madison and Fred Jenni of Tuhn, Switzerland; and four
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Bernard Pietenpohl, Walter Trimberger, Louis Meier, Clarence
Krause, George Hubing and Fred Wall. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang “For me To live Is
Jesus” and “I’m But a Stranger here.” Victor Lehmann was the accompanist.
Included among those who attended the services were the following from
out-of-town: Mr. and Mrs. Myron Payne and family and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jelinski,
Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Flitter, St. Paul, Mn; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harder,
Greenwood; Mrs. Esther Franz, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Krause, Watertown
and Mrs. Elda Krause, Jefferson.
