Lukstein, Reinholt A. (23 JUN 1892 – 31 DEC 1967)

Services for Reinholt A. Lukstein, 75, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood, and at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Philip Leinfelder officiated and burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mr. Lukstein was fatally injured last Sunday night in a traffic accident on an Illinois tollway in Arlington Heights, when a car being driven by his son, Emil, Harvard, Ill. skidded during freezing rain into a median strip and struck another car.

The elder Lukstein had been visiting at his son’s home the past several weeks.

Mr. Lukstein was born in Milwaukee June 23, 1892 and was married in Chicago April 21, 1923 to the former Wanda Kryzanski, who died June 29, 1964.

Shortly after his birth, the parents of Mr. Lukstein returned to their native Germany, where they son grew to manhood. As a young man, Reinholt returned to Chicago where he lived until 1934. He spent the next 10 years of his life in Thorp (Clark Co.), and then lived in Harvard, Ill., where he was employed as a stationary engineer. Since his retirement in 1960 he had resided in Greenwood.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenwood.

In addition to his son Emil, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George (Rose Marie) Fitzl, Greenwood, and four grandchildren.
