Palms, Gary Lewis (21 May 1952 - 21 November 2014)
Gary L. Palms, age 62, of West Allis, formerly of Thorp, passed away on Friday,
November 21, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A
celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Gary Lewis Palms was born in Neillsville, WI on May 21, 1952, a son of Robert
and Iva (Bertrang) Palms. He was raised in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp,
and received his education in the Thorp School District, graduating from Thorp
High School in 1970. After completing his education, Gary moved to Milwaukee and
attended welding school. He then worked at Wehr Steel Casting, in Milwaukee, for
10 years. Gary was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Lobotzke on May 5, 1973 at
St. Agnes Catholic Church in Butler, WI. He then went to work at Maynard Steel
Casting until retiring in 2012 due to poor health.
Gary had many interests, but loved fishing, hunting, his dog, ‘Maggie,’ and his
job.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of West Allis; two daughters: Heather
Palms of West Allis, WI and Andrea Palms of Milwaukee, WI; 10 sisters: Roberta
Braeger of Red Granite, WI; Wanda Leigh of Vassar, MI; Nancy (James) Fitzl of
Augusta, WI; Cheryl Ustianowski of Altoona, WI; Patricia (James) Briski of
Greenwood, WI; Valorie (Ed) Salzgeber of Barron, WI; Lucy Nitz (Les White) of
Boyd, WI; Renata (Al) Ciokiewicz of Stanley, WI; Dorothy Knar of Thorp, WI; Tina
Palms of Eau Claire, WI; five brothers: Eugene (Renee) Palms of Thorp, WI;
Gordon (Debra) Palms of Withee, WI; Kenneth Palms (Wendy Worth) of New Berlin,
WI; LaVern ‘Popeye’ (Dawn) Palms of Milwaukee, WI; David ‘Mike’ Palms of
Neillsville, WI; three grandchildren; Victoria, Adam and Dalton; many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Palms.
