Mrs. Leona Syth left Tuesday to visit relatives in Appleton before she goes to
Chicago to join her daughter, Miss Geraldine Syth, to Germany and other European
countries.
A special program was presented at the Zion United Church of Christ during the
Sunday morning worship services at 9:30 a.m. by a group of young people in the
Greenwood area. Accompanying the folk songs and other songs were James Antrim
and Patrice Pakiz, playing guitars.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pakiz spent the weekend with relatives in Milwaukee. While
there on Saturday they attended the wedding of their nephew, George Plautz, to
Suzanne Hoyt.
Mrs. Otto Voie is a surgical patient in a Marshfield hospital.
Mr and Mrs. Hugh Severson, Mrs. Henry Keiner and Miss Louise Keiner spent July 4
visiting Rock Dam, Mead Lake and Miller’s Dam, and had a picnic supper at
Mondeau.
Mrs. Richard Thompson was admitted June 30 to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
She has returned home.
The neighborhood club was entertained at a supper meeting Friday evening at the
home of Mrs. Don Warner.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester and family and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Catlin
of Loyal, went to Mosinee Satruday to meet their brother and son, William Catlin
of San Diego, Calif., and his wife, who will spend a week here and in Loyal.
Sharon and Steven Kuester of Eau Claire spent the week end with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mr. and Mrs. George Kuester, while
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Kuester, visited in Green Bay. They all
returned to Eau Claire Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orv Matzke in
Wausau.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney, Sr., returned Monday evening after spending the week
in Northern Michigan.
Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mrs. Eleanor Plank were Mrs. Jake Speich,
Mrs. James Metcalf, Mrs. Bertha Dallman and Miss Violet Speich.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sischo of Loyal were Saturday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Kaudy.
Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Mrs. Don Warner visited in Eau Claire Wednesday at the
home of the latter’s daughter, Mrs. Don Telford and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hohl, Mrs. Gladys Cline and niece from Marshfield; Mrs.
Marguarite Yench of Two Rivers; Mrs. Louise Ellingson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Bartelt, Jim and Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hohl and
daughter, and Mr and Mrs. James Turnquist attended the Ellingson - Zimmer
wedding in La Crosse.
Mr. and Mrs. James Ellingson, Nanette and Todd, of Menomonie Falls, spent the
weekend with his mother, Mrs. Louise Ellingson, and attended the Ellingson -
Zimmer wedding in La Crosse. They also attended Mr. Ellingson’s 20th Greenwood
High School class reunion on Saturday evening. They were accompanied to
Menomonee Falls by his mother, who will visit there for several days.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Adams and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Thiel and family
spent last week in the Hayward area.
