Robinson, Mildred "Millie" (1920? – 26 NOV 2014)

Mildred "Millie" Hecker Robinson, 94, Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Loyal, died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at her home in Sacramento. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Claire’s Catholic Church in Roseville, Calif. A reception will follow at Eskaton Village Clubhouse at noon.

Millie was one of nine siblings born to Joseph and Julia Hecker of Loyal. She married Lt. Col. William E. Robinson, who preceded her in death in 2000. She attended Loyal High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield. She enlisted as a nurse with the Navy during World War II and continued as a nurse in many capacities during her lifetime. Millie had many interests as an artist, seamstress, gardener, and expert bridge player until her final illness. As a military wife she spent time in Germany and France after World War II. She and her husband, Bill, traveled extensively, loved cruises, and enjoyed their RV, also volunteering in many capacities.

She is survived by a sister, Lorene Hecker Devine, Toledo, Ohio; her four children, Lynne Shineman, Leland, N.C., Julie Cox, Clayton, N.C., Gary Robinson, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Joan Basque, Rocklin, Calif.; her children’s spouses, Gary Cox, Leslie Robinson and David Basque; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
