Lawson, Nettie (30 January 1897 - 6 July 1973)
Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, from the Sherwood Community Church
for Mrs. Ralph (Nettie) Lawson of Neillsville who died July 6 at the age of 76.
The Rev. Ralph Schram of Alma Center officiated and burial was made in the
Sherwood Cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral home at Granton was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Lawson, the former Nettie Lunderville, was born January 30, 1897, at
Gilmanton and was educated there and at Alma. Her marriage to Ralph Lawson took
place October 24, 1917, at Alma. The Lawsons farmed in the Town of Sherwood
until 1962 when they moved to the Town of Levis. They came to Neillsville in
1967.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lawson is survived by a son, Arlo Lawson of
Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Bartz of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Ethel
Sparks of Wisconsin Rapids; and a brother, Everett Lunderville of Merrillan. She
is also survived by a grandson and a great-grandson.
Pallbearers were George Florence, Ardo Fluegel, Norman Freedlund, Neil Coulthard,
Chester Freedlund and Arville Schaefer. “In The Garden” and “A Quiet Resting
Place” were sung by Tim Schram. The congregation sang “The Old Rugged Cross.”
Mrs. Ralph Schram was the accompanist.
