Howard Strommen, a graduate of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) High School and
former member of the Ag. Department, is now taking up the Short Course in
Agriculture offered by the College of Agriculture at Madison. Howard has been
employed by the Experimental Farm at Sturgeon Bay during the past two years and
is now taking advantage of this course during the winter months. A dormitory
especially for Short Course students is available, which makes a very desirable
arrangement for those attending because of the fact that those interested in the
same subjects are together, making a much better organized unit in the College.
Scholarships of seventy-five dollars are offered every year.
These are given on a competitive basis. Themes are written on some subjects
pertaining to Agriculture and sent in to the college, and the scholarships are
awarded upon the merit of the theme. Anyone interest in the Short Course at any
time should take advantage of this offer made by the College of Agriculture.
