Neillsville (17 December 2014)

The Schleifer family had a super surprise Thanksgiving Day. Their son, James, and his wife, Camille, arrived from Estill Springs, TN, to spend a couple of days with the family. Guests at the Christy and Gary Anding home, were Hillary, Haleigh and Heidi Anding, Joe Gomez, Clarissa and Ricky Rochester, Arianna and Delaney, Richard and Patricia Schleifer, all of Neillsville; Carla Jo and Mitch Schneider and Addysen, Green Bay; Charly Ann Lavey, Breann and Preston, Farmington, MN; and Mark Lavey, Nashville, TN. The birthday of Richard was celebrated which was on Thanksgiving Day this year, along with the festivities.

Members of Granton/Chili Senior Citizens enjoyed their Christmas Potluck dinner Thursday, Dec. 11. Each member brought an item for the food pantry, and it was voted to also give a $25 monetary gift. The ice cream was furnished by Alene Lautenbach. Members were invited to the dinner to be served Christmas Day at the York Center Methodist Church with turkey and ham on the menu. The family dinner, open to the public, freewill offering only, will begin with a prayer, and will run from noon until all are served. Throughout the years, in December, Milly Faber led the members in singing the old familiar Christmas songs. Milly still remains at the home of her daughter Bonnie in Rice Lake, WI. If anyone would like to remember Milly with a card, her address is: Bonnie and Milly Faber, P.O. Box 583, Rice Lake, WI 54868-0583. This year Sharon Bjerke shared her song sheets for singing Christmas songs.

The next meeting will be held with a noon potluck Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. Bingo is to be played; bring a gift. Meetings are held at the Granton Community Center. Visitors are welcome.
