Daniel Kuntz, born Sunday, November 4, 1979, died Monday, November 5, 1979 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kuntz, Route 1, Loyal.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, November 6 at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal. Rev. Chester Osowski officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery, Loyal.

On Saturday, October 27, 1979 at 6:00 p.m. Miss Cheri Esther Popp, 207 South Walnut, Spencer, and Timothy Michael Sterzinger, Route 1, Marshfield, were united in marriage at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Pastor Wm Ruhbusch officiated and music was provided by Mrs. Arnold Bruesewitz on the organ and Mrs. Russell Lang as soloist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Popp, 207 South Walnut, Spencer, and the groom’s parents’ are Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Sterzinger, Route 2, Colby.

The bride was seen in a gown of nylon organza over taffeta with church train and ruffles around the bottom of the dress. She wore a headpiece with fingertip veil and train. She carried a cascade style bouquet of white roses and daisies.

Mrs. Peter Finneran, Kingston, Pennsylvania served as matron of honor, and Miss Irene Iwaszczenko, Marshfield was bridesmaid. They wore apricot colored dresses with old fashioned lace over the top with high colors and lace puffed sleeves. They carried bouquets of daisies and multi-colored carnations.

Serving as best man was Paul Kunze, Colby, and Gary Sterzinger Colby, was groomsman. Edwin Fenske and Jerald Sterzinger performed ushering duties.

Following the wedding there was a reception, dinner and dance at the Marshfield Labor Temple.

The bride attended Spencer school and is employed as a waitress at Krause’s Inn. The groom graduated in 1977 from Colby High School and is a laborer at Lynn Proteins, Lynn.

After a wedding trip touring Tennessee they will reside at 207 South Walnut, Spencer, until Spring.

At a 2:30 p.m. wedding mass on Saturday, October 20, 1979, Luanne Haas, St. Francis Wisconsin, became the bride of Richard Demberger, Milwaukee.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Florence Haas, Loyal and the late Raphael Haas, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Demberger, Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

Officiating at the mass was Father Chester Osowski. Sue Dux and Dorothea Korpela were the soloists and Kathy Jasurda played the organ.

The bride, accompanied to the altar by her mother, was seen in an empire style gown of ivory chiffon, highlighted by a sunburst pleated skirt. Brussels lace accented the sheer V-yoke and formed an attached flounce over the bodice. She carried a bouquet of orange roses, ivory carnations, star flowers and baby’s breath.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Sandy Rowley of Marshfield. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Dorothea Korpela of East Troy and Miss Betty Corning of West Allis.

They were attired in emerald green empire dresses with matching long sleeved jackets.

Attending the groom as best man was Jon Wispe of Iowa City, Iowa. Groomsmen were Bruce Rupert of Green Bay and Hank Vera of Shorewood.

The groomsmen also performed ushering duties.

A dinner, reception and dance were held at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

The new Mrs. Demberger is a Loyal High School graduate and is employed as a stenographer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Mr. Demberger is a graduate of Penn State University and is employed as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The couple will be at home in Milwaukee.

During the past six weeks Greenwood High School has been participating in the High Quiz Bowl series which is sponsored by Viterbo College in La Cross, and WSAU-TV in Wausau. The Greenwood team consists of Karl Wallin, captain, sophomore; Gina Volovsek, junior; Joseph Susa, junior; Peter Bucheger, senior; and Margaret Gosar, freshman.

The coach is Jon Hanson, Greenwood High School Social Science instructor.

Greenwood’s first appearance on the 1979-80 High Quiz Bowl series was on October 20, 1979, when Greenwood defeated a team from Mercer High School by a score of 80 – 40. On October 27, Greenwood defeated a team from Stevens Point Pacelli 110 – 55. An finally, on November 3 Greenwood defeated a team from Tigerton High School by the score of 125 – 65. As a result of these victories, Greenwood team now moves into “Super Bowl” competition with other teams with three successive victories. This competition will take place during April or May of 1980, with the winner qualifying for national High Quiz Bowl competition.

On Saturday, October 27, 1979 Miss Lisa Ann Schecklman, Route 3, Neillsville, became the bride of Timothy Raymond Braun, Route 2, Spencer. Father Chester Osowski performed the 1 p.m. ceremony, at which Sarah McNeely played the organ and Bob and Coni Meyer sang.

Miss Schecklman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Schecklman, Route 3, Neillsville, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Braun, Route 2, Spencer.

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was the setting of the wedding, at which the bride’s father gave her away. She was seen in a floor length bridal gown of silk organza trimmed with Rosepoint lace with Queen Ann neckline, bishop sleeves and ruffle flounce edged skirt sweeping to a chapel train. She wore a matching lace edged veil in fingertip length. She carried a bouquet of orange roses, baby’s breath, and ivy.

Miss Sara Schecklman, Route 3, Neillsville, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Karen Ratchman, Neenah, Kelly Schecklman, Neillsville, Patricia Schecklman, Neillsville, and Nicole Dietsche was the miniature bride. They were seen in polyester gowns in the blouson style with high neckline, lace yoke and edging, open long sleeves and A-line skirts in colors of rust, cinnamon and honey colors. They carried bouquets of mums of assorted fall colors, and also had mums and bows in their hair. The miniature bride was attired in a gown the same as the bride’s.

Serving as best man was Daniel Schecklman, Neillsville. The groomsmen were John Braun, Spencer, Gerald Walter, Loyal, Timothy Schecklman, Neillsville and Tom Bauer, Loyal. Ring bearer was Eric Ratchman, Neenah.

Following the ceremony there was a reception, dinner and dance at the Loyal American Legion Club Hall.

The bride is a 1979 graduate of Loyal High School and is employed at Country Kitchen, Marshfield as a waitress. Mr. Braun is a 1977 graduate of Loyal High School and is employed by Braun Construction, Loyal.

The new couple will make their home at Route 2, Spencer.
