Kotcon, Roselyn Doreen (30 July 1932 - 2 January 2015)
Roselyn D. Kotcon, 82, of Neillsville died Jan. 2, 2015, at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Marshfield.
Rosely Doreen Stiemke was born July 30, 1932, in Milwaukee, the daughter of
Henry and Bertha (Lueck) Stiemke. They moved to Neillsville when Roselyn was a
young girl. She was confirmed in 1944 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe
and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1950. Roselyn worked as a bank
teller at the First National Bank in Neillsville for two years. She was united
in marriage to the love of her life, Felix D. Kotcon, Aug. 12, 1952. They spent
62 wonderful years together farming and raising their family in the Town of
York.
Rosely love to take care of her family. She was also a very dedicated member of
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville and was very involved with the Parish
Council of Catholic Women, having served all offices of the PCCW and numerous
offices of the DCCW. She was a member of the Good Neighbors Homemakers Club, and
in her spare time, Rosalyn love to square dance, sewing, read and loved
traveling with her husband, Felix.
She is survived by her husband Felix of Neillsville; children, Donald Kotcon of
Neillsville, James (Candace) Kotcon of Morgantown, WV, Susan (Michael) Poziombke
of Neillsville and Dennis (Trisha) Kotcon of Montreal, WI; five grandchildren:
Sarah (Eli) Melnick-Rogers, Rebekah Kotcon, Courtney (Adam) Ewoldt, Caleb
(Jenna) Poziombke and Cana (Travis) Leffert; one great-grandchild, Kailey Ewoldt;
five siblings, Jeanette (Orin) Janke of Humbird, Irene Nickel of Marshfield, Ted
(Wileen) Stiemke of Spencer, Arthur (Jeanne) Stiemke of Neillsville, and Verna
Zimmerman of Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, John Zimmerman.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Rosie was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6,
2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with Rev. Varkey V. Joseph as
celebrant. Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Choir.
Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, with a 7:30 prayer service at the Gesche Funeral home in
Neillsville, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the St. Mary’s
Catholic Church.
Casketbearers were: Donald Kotcon, James Kotcon, Dennis Kotcon, Mike Poziombke,
Caleb Poziombke and Adam Ewoldt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association,
Greater Wisconsin Chapter, 2900 Curry Lane, Suite A Green Bay, WI 54311.
