Vollrath, Janene Beth (Marriage - 21 July 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vollrath of Greenwood presented their daughter, Miss Janene
Beth Vollrath, in marriage to Leslie Jon Backus Saturday, July 21, at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Willard. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Backus of Willard. Officiating at the 1 p.m. ceremony was the Rev. Michael
Mertens.
The bride’s traditional white gown was framed by a mantilla veil flowing to a
chapel-length train. Daisies formed her bouquet.
Attending the bride were Miss Diane Gregorich as maid of honor and Miss Linda
Kocher and Miss Jana Barr as bridesmaids. All are of Greenwood. Their
daisy-trimmed gowns of nylon dotted Swiss over taffeta were designed by the
bride’s mother. They wore picture hats and carried daisy bouquets designed to
match their dresses.
Al Debevec, Willard, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Randy Vollrath of
Greenwood and Ed Bushman of Loyal. Guests were seated by Galen Liebzeit of
Greenwood and John Bayuk of Willard.
Corrine Stewart, Greenwood, was the vocalist. She was accompanied by Mrs. Sue
Volovsek.
A reception and a dinner at the parish hall were followed in the evening by a
dance at the West Side Hall.
The bride was honored at a shower given by her bridal attendants at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Vollrath and at another shower given by friend of her
parents at the Warner Town Hall.
The newlyweds are living at Pine View Terrace in Greenwood, where the groom is
employed by a local firm.
