Froeba, Dan (1 MAR 1955 - 29 DEC 2014)
Trucker Dan Froeba was born March 1, 1955 to Tom and Donna Froeba. At the age of
59, he peacefully passed away at North Central Healthcare Center on December 29,
2014.
A Memorial Service will be 11 AM Saturday, January 3, 2014 at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate.
Interment will take place at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Loyal. A
visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the
funeral home.
He grew up mostly in Loyal, WI, but moved to Colby when he was in school. He
graduated from Colby High School in 1973. He played basketball and football in
high school.
He began his working at Braun out of Loyal (a roofing company), Wick Building
out of Marshfield, and the Feed Mill in Colby. He also enjoyed farming until his
barn tragically burned down. But truck driving was his favorite. His first truck
driving job was Schjoeneman's out of Colby. He worked other truck driving jobs,
too, but his favorites were Badgerstate Western, Abbyland, and R & K Trucking.
He was a huge Elvis Presley fanatic. Everyone thought he resembled him in looks!
He was also a Dale Earnhardt fan.
His hobbies included being the pull truck for the race track in Colby, using his
infamous red and white Ford pickup. And finally in 2005, he bought his pride and
joy....a blue '57 Chevy! He also enjoyed hunting, socializing, and just having
fun. But if you couldn't find him, he was probably outside cutting wood at the
wood pile. He liked being outdoors.
Dan met his former wife, Robin, in 1978 and they were married November 4, 1978.
They had 2 daughters, Kari and Amy. Even though they had their ups and downs,
they always remained close. And after splitting for some time, they reunited and
Dan inherited a step - daughter, Sara, with whom he created a lasting bond.
Dan is survived by his 2 daughters; Kari (Tim) Smazal and Amy Froeba, Robin and
Sara, with whom he remained like family with and his sister Bonnie (Rev. Bill)
Finn. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brooke, Dylan, Ashlyn, Kenley,
Tylee, Gabryelle, Lukas, Lillynn, and John.
Dan the Man.......you are so loved and will be missed so much. Forever in our
hearts.
