T-5 John T. Verschay of Willard received his honorable discharge from the Army
on Nov. 22, 1945 at Ft. Knox, Ky.
He received his basic training at Fort Custer, Mich., Fort Reynold, Pa., Camp
Chaffer, Ark., and Fort Atterbury, Ind., and left Camp Miles Standish, Mass. for
overseas. After his return from overseas he was stationed at Fort Breckenridge,
Ky., where he received his discharge.
He spent 10 months in the ETO sector, serving with the 106th Division of the
Infantry, and participated in the campaigns in Northern France, Ardennes,
Central Europe and the Rhineland.
He wears the ETO ribbon with 4 battle stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal
and American Theatre Ribbon.
