Hiles, Linda (Marriage - 28 July 1973)

Pink roses and baby’s breath formed the bridal bouquet as vows were repeated by Miss Linda Hiles and Donald Erickson Saturday, July 28, at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. William Humlie of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony. A reception was held at Bali Hai supper club.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Hiles of Rt. 2 Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. George Erickson of Rt. 2 Neillsville.

Given in marriage by her father, the former Miss Hiles appeared in a gown of sheer white organza trimmed with venise lace. A pillbox headpiece held her mantilla veil.

Miss Joann Hiles, Granton, was the maid of honor and Miss Donna Erickson, Eau Claire, the bridesmaid. Their sheer, pink-flocked mist-green gowns were complimented by bouquets of pink glads with baby’s breath and matching floral headpieces.

Serving as best man was Andrew Ponomarenko, and groomsman, Dennis DeMert. Ushers were Kurt Cook and Michael Barth. Soloist Sue Dudei was accompanied by Marjorie Schlinsog at the organ.

A 1968 graduate of Granton High School, and a 1970 graduate of Eau Claire Technical Institute. She is employed at Memorial Hospital. The groom graduated from Neillsville High School in 1969 and from Eau Claire Technical Institute in 1970. He is employed by a Spencer building firm.

The newlyweds plan to attend the Trans-Am road races at Elkhart Lake and then travel around Lake Michigan on their wedding trip. They will live on Rt. 1 Neillsville.
