Austin, John H. (13 NOV 1863 – 15 AUG 1947)

John Herbert Austin, son of Herbert and Margaret Austin, was born in Angelo, Wis. Nov. 13, 1863 and departed from this life Friday night, August 15 at the home of his daughter in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis. He was united in marriage to Blanche De Witt Sept. 4, 1894 at Sparta, Wis. To this union one daughter, Linn (Mrs. E. L. Mlada) was born. They lived in Sparta until 1920.

His parents, 3 brothers, one sister and his wife preceded him in death.

Since 1934 he has lived with his daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren, Austin and Margaret.

Funeral services were held from Lanham’s Funeral Home at Sparta, Wis., Aug. 17 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. E. Clarke of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in Mount Hope Cemetery.
