Clark County held their Black and White Picnic on June 28, 1947 at the Greenwood Park. forty head of Holstein cattle were exhibited at the picnic. The program started in the morning by having a Jr. Judging Contest. Winners in this contest were as follow:

First Place: Vernon Howard – Pleasant Ridge 4-H Club
Second Place: (Four tied)
• Eugene Hinker – Greenwood
• Melvin Appleyard – Neillsville
• Ronald Kitzhaber – Greenwood
• Robert Chadwick – Neillsville

Shortly after dinner demonstrations on producing quality milk were given by Bill Bush, Robert Bush and Robert Bragg, Dorchester, WIS. from the Pleasant Hill 4-H Club.

About 1:30 the adult Judging Contest took place with a separate class for Ladies and Men. The winners of the Ladies Judging Contest were:

First Place – Mrs. Sylvester Hinker, Greenwood, Wis.
Second Place – (Three tied)

• Jean Brey, Greenwood
• Mrs. Esther Dodte, Neillsville
• Mrs. E.M. Peterson, Curtiss

The winners of the Men’s Judging Contest were:

First Place: Mr. Ronald Elmhorst, Neillsville, Wis.
Second Place – (Three tied)

• A. Moh
• Louie Wojtkiewicz
• O. Kessler

Prizes were given to all of the contest winners in the judging contests.

The cattle were judge by Mr. Art Collentine from the University of Wisconsin, and were judged on the Danish system. The winners were as follows:
