Pfc. Leroy G. Plunkett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett, Route 1, Greenwood
(Clark Co.), Wis., was recently promoted to the grade of Corporal in the 1917th
Airways and Air Communications Service, Westover Air Force Base, Mass.
Corporal Plunkett enlisted in the Air Force Dec. 10th, 1948 at Milwaukee, Wis.,
and took his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Upon
completion of his basic training he was transferred to radar mechanic school,
Kresler Air Force Base, Mississippi. He was graduated Aug. 9th, 1950, and was
transferred to the 1917th Airways and Air Communications Squadron, Westover AFB,
Mass., where he serves in the capacity of radar mechanic.
Prior to entering the Air Force Corp. Plunkett was employed by the Putney
Electric Co., New Holstein, Wis., as an installer of house wiring, fuses and
switches
