On Saturday, July 25, 1951, at the parsonage of the Holy Family Church at
Willard, Miss Bonnie Lou Opdycke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Opdycke,
Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Edward Sherman Sloniker, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sloniker.
The bride wore an ankle length strapless gown of nylon lace with which she had a
matching bolero. A sweetheart picture hat and a colonial bouquet completed her
wedding attire.
Bridal attendants include Mrs. Edwin Degenhardt, Marshfield, sister of the
bride, as matron of honor, and Miss Dolores Worchel, Green Lake, as bridesmaid.
They were attired in green and yellow net over taffeta gowns and carried
colonial bouquets .
Edwin Degenhardt, Marshfield, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man, and
Verlyn Sloniker, Greenwood, brother of the groom, was groomsman.
Following the ceremony the bride’s home was the scene of the dinner and
reception which followed. a dance at Merry Ol’ Gardens near Longwood brought the
day’s festivities to a close.
The newlyweds received their education in Greenwood school. Upon their return
from their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Sloniker will reside in Greenwood, where the
former is employed by the Greenwood Co-op Milk Products Co.
