Reamer, Lois (Henning) (21 AUG 1924 - 23 JAN 2015)

Lois Reamer, age 90, of Colby, formerly of Columbus, passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Lois was born August 21, 1924, in the township of Elba, Dodge County, to Frank and Freda (Bucholz) Henning.

Lois was united in marriage to Lloyd Reamer on December 6, 1945, in Columbus. For about 20 years, Lois and Lloyd farmed in Columbus, until they moved into town in 1964. They later moved to Dorchester in 2003.

Lois worked in the housekeeping department at Columbus Community Hospital until retirement age. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Lois loved to go listen and dance to polka music. Lois and Lloyd shared the joy of fishing together. Most of all she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Richard (Donna) Reamer, Dorchester, and Dennis (Sidnee) Reamer, Oneida; three grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Reamer, Brian (Roberta) Reamer and Becky (Jeremy) Schmelzer; three great-grandchildren, Carla Schmelzer, Harley Schmelzer and Tripp Reamer; four great-step-grandchildren, Ryan Gehrke, Cassandra Elner, Tessa Brandner and Dillin Brandner; one brother, Roger (Harriet) Henning; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois is predeceased in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; a sister, Viola; and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ in Columbus. The Rev. Schieble will preside. Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby and Koepsell-Ziedler Funeral Services in Columbus assisted the family with the arrangements.
