Shilkey, Gerald D. “Jerry” (9 FEB 1930 - 22 JAN 2015)
Gerald D. “Jerry” Shilkey, 84, died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Ministry
Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
He was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Trout Creek, Mich., to Jim and Ruth (Hawes) Marsh.
Mr. Shilkey was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in Manistee,
Mich. He was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force as an airman
and retired from the Western Union Company as a lineman.
He was a lifelong sports enthusiast. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia
and storytelling.
Mr. Shilkey is survived by many nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Margarette Vesper, Mary
Marsh, Sarah Kolodzne and Mabel Vergenz; and five brothers, Eugene Mead, Warren
Mead, Leroy Mead, Peter Shilkey and Andrew Shilkey.
Funeral service was held Jan. 26 at Claussen Funeral Home in Johnson Creek.
Burial followed at St. Mary’s Magdalen Catholic Church Cemetery.
