Strebing, Frances (9 July 1915 - 31 January 2015)
Frances Strebing, 99, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away Satruday, Jan. 31, 2015, at
the home of her granddaughter in Lincolnton, NC.
Frances Strebing was born July 8, 1915, in the Town of Levis south of
Neillsville. She was the daughter of Marie (Johnson) and Frank Kuzel. She was
born and lived with her mother on the old Lenz farm, which was located just
south of Pineview and Borglin Road crossing. She was united in marriage to
Raymond Strebing in 1938. They owned and operated Ray’s South Side Food Mart and
the Texaco gas station on Division Street in Neillsville from 1940 to 1959. In
1959 the store and gas station was sold and the family moved to New York Mills,
NY.
Frances is survived by three sons, Leonard (Jenny) Strebing of Carthage, NY, Roy
(Linda) of Rockford, IL, and Gene (Eileen) of Rome, NY, plus several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; one step-sister, Carolyn
Sayer; and one step-brother, Leroy Lenz.
As per Frances’ request, there be no public funeral, she will be buried in the
New York Mills, NY cemetery.
We would like to thank Tanya Hager, our mother’s granddaughter, for letting
Mother stay with her family and giving her the excellent care for the past six
years.
