Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Martinson and family of Union Grove spent Sunday at the
Charles Tieman home. On Saturday, Mrs. Martinson, the former Arlene Tieman
attended a 25th class reunion of her nursing class in Eau Claire.
Visitors at the Hugo Kuehl home this week were: Mrs. Sylvia Winterer, Thorp; Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Jung, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Kuehl and son, Augusta;
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Cornwell and Dianna, Ripon; and Joe Grajkowski and son,
Thorp.
A large crowd of friends and relatives gathered at the Palmer home on Saturday,
in honor of Mrs. Palmer’s birthday, a very bountiful potluck dinner was served
at noon and she was the recipient of many gifts and a purse of money. In
addition to the guests from this area many other places were represented
including: Willard, Humbird, Union Grove, Finland, Minnesota, Ripon, Thorp, and
Albertville.
Mrs. Roman Possely and son, Peter of Chicago, are visiting Mrs. Possely’s aunt,
Mrs. John Kile and other relatives in the area.
Rev. and Mrs. Harold Palmer and Mrs. Pirl Burrington attended a picnic at Mead
Lake on Monday in honor of Mrs. Le Roy Gross’s birthday.
Mrs. John Kile entertained at a dinner party at her home on Monday; the honored
guest was Mrs. Edna Schmidt of Marshfield. She is a cousin of Mrs. Kile. Other
relatives who were invited to renew their acquaintances were: Mrs. Georgia
Collins, Mrs. Lottie Morrison, Mrs. Bud Kile, Owen; Mrs. Curt Mayenschein; and
Mrs. Roman Possely, Chicago.
Mrs. Pirl Burrington and granddaughter, Jackie, visited at the Dewayne Parent
home on Wednesday.
Visitors at the Chester Daines home this week were: Mr. and Mrs. Beulah Caucutt
of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Al Fischer of Altoona and Mrs. Beulah Harnsen from
Illinois.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Altmann and family of Marshfield spent Sunday at the Arthur
Reineke home.
Miss Thelma Palmer is visiting in St. Paul, Backus and Thief River Falls this
week.
Mrs. Joyce Washborn and son, Barry, of Milwaukee and Renee Dischof, Lake Mills,
spent the weekend at the Charles Tieman home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conklin and Eddie John Irish spent Thursday in Hurley with
their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Reed. The four Reed daughters
returned home with them, namely: Donna, Debbie, Dianne and Denise. They will
stay for a week.
Mrs. Tony Buker of Willard visited with Mrs. Jack Conlin on Tuesday.
