Diercks, Carl Henry (25 August 1902 - 4 August 1973)
A retired Nelson Muffler Company employee, Carl Henry Diercks of Rt. 2
Neillsville, died August 4, at the age of 70. Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Eggen of Zion
American Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Columbia Cemetery.
Born August 25, 1902, in Oshkosh to Edward and Roselina (Volkman) Diercks, he
was educated in Clark County schools and did farm work locally as a young man.
After his marriage to the former Viva Kier on November 8, 1925, in Neillsville,
he worked for the Roddis Plywood Corporation in Marshfield. Mr. Diercks was also
employed at the Walter Schmidt Cheese Factory at Granton and on the Rush Hake
milk route. He retired in 1967 after working for the Nelson Muffler Company for
16 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Eugene Diercks of
Vesper, Chester Diercks of Junction City, Mrs. Arnold (Shirley) Poeschael of
Mondovi and Mrs. Raymond (Janet) McMilland of Rockford, Il.; and 16
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
