Shortville (11 Jul 1918)

The Fourth of July celebration at Winters’ grove was well attended and a most enjoyable time had by all. Most everyone spent the evening at Riverside.

Clarence Irish returned from Rochester Monday. Grandpa Irish came back with him.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Winters and family returned to Tripoli Friday, after spending the Fourth here.

Mrs. Jack Keating and daughter Sadie of Merrill visited here a few days last week.

Clyde Savage is working for Guy Cramer.

Ed. Haggie has sold his motorcycle and bought a Ford.

Car loads of people pass through here every day on their way to the blueberry patch.

Mrs. Mary MacPherson is very sick.

Eva and Arthur Stevens, Erna Schultz, Floyd Haggie and Miss Horton of Dells Dam went for an auto trip Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Irish are here from Alma Center visiting his parents.
