Mrs. Con Gorman was at Marshfield yesterday.
Miss Lena Hartung came home yesterday from Glencoe, Ill.
Carl Walk and daughter are here from Bay City, Mich., for a short visit.
Chas. Young is here from Indiana visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
Cummings.
Mrs. Al Sherman returned Tuesday from a few days’ visit at Black River Falls.
Mrs. Otto Schaller of Chippewa Falls is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will
Juntley.
Jack Kaiser and wife and son of Muscoda spent a few days the first of the week
with Gus. Kaiser and family.
Mrs. Frank Roach and children returned home to Chippewa Falls after a visit at
the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Neis.
Herman Landrick of Neillsville, who has been visiting at the Peter Statz home,
returned to his home Friday. ¬Alma Center News
Sheriff Hewett arrested Jos. Walenta on Tuesday and charged [him] with a serious
offence in Milwaukee and took him to Milwaukee on Wednesday evening.
The canning factory made a short run on beans yesterday and it is expected that
within a few days beans will be coming in in sufficient quantities to run
steadily.
National Bank Examiner Guilford was here on Tuesday examining the First National
Bank and found the affairs of that institution in their usual satisfactory
shape.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Eters and son, and Miss Sarah Beaver of Cashion, Mrs. Frank
Schotten and son, and Mrs. Arthur Olson and daughter of Minneapolis, and Frank
Breitenbach of Hewett visited at the home of their brother and brother-in-law,
Herman Beaver, and family the past week.
The Ladies Aid of the M.E. Church will meet on July 24 at the usual time and
palce. Serving committee Mesdames Irvine, M.C. Redmond and Kleckner. The ladies
will sew for the Red Cross in the afternoon.
