West Eaton (18 Jul 1918)
West Eaton is having the road dragged. Carl Jornby is doing the work with his
tractor.
Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Bahl received word that their son, Victor, would cross the
water. May all good luck go with him and we hope he will soon get the old
Kaiser.
Mrs. L.A. Borgers called on Mrs. H. Bostwick last Friday evening.
Mrs. Frank Able went to Withee one day last week to see a doctor in regard to
her health.
Mrs. H. Bostwick has been very sick with quinsy, but is some better at this
writing.
Mr. and Mrs. Thorson attended the 4th of July picnic at Bowes.
Mrs. Podobnik called on Mrs. H. Bostwick last Monday afternoon.
A number of our farmers have begun haying.
George Gemmeke and brother, Henry, and A. Davey and Jason Bostwick went
blueberrying Thursday and Friday and report that they are not so plentiful.
Carl Davey called at Bostwick’s Saturday morning.
Mike Podobnik has his new barn finished, which adds a fine finishing touch to
his farm.
Mrs. Ozanich called at Mrs. Podobnik’s Friday afternoon.
