Epding, John (Barn Destroyed by Fire – 20 Jul 1918)
Last Saturday the Epding barn, south of Day Corners, caught fire in some manner
and was completely destroyed, together with about 15 loads of hay which was
being put in. John Epding was overcome by the heat and smoke in his efforts to
save the building and was in a very serious condition for a short time. Help
from neighbors and Neillsville confined the fire to the barn.
