Tomlinson, Susan Marie (Marriage - 4 August 1973)
A Neillsville High School teacher, Jerome Anthony Uher, claimed Miss Susan Marie
Tomlinson of rural Arpin as his bride Saturday, August 4, at St. Kilian’s
Catholic Church, Blenker. The Rev. James Ennis officiated at the noon ceremony.
Miss Lois Hoffman was the organist.
The bride and groom were escorted to the altar by their parents, Mr. and mrs.
Clare Tomlinson, Rt. 2 Arpin, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Uher, Rt. 1, Junction
City.
The former Miss Tomlinson chose an empire style gown of nylon organza and
chattily lace fashioned with a detachable Watteau train and framed by a matching
lace-edged, cathedral-length mantilla. Red roses, miniature white carnations and
stephanotis formed her bouquet.
Miss Shirley Tomlinson, rural Arpin, the bride’s sister, was the maid of honor.
The groom’s sisters, Miss Bonnie Uher and Miss Mary Ann Uher, both of rural
Junction City, were the bridesmaids. Their empire-waist polyester organza gowns
in shades of orchid, blue and maize were accented by white venise lace trim.
They carried arrangements of white carnations with carnations tinted to match
their dresses.
The groom was attended by his brother, Arthur Uher, Jr., DE Pere, as bestman and
by the bride’s brothers, Ron Tomlinson and Roger Tomlinson, both of rural Arpin,
as groomsmen. Ushers were Joe Dobering, Milwaukee, and Don Koller, Milladore.
A dinner was served in the parish dining hall. Our Place, of Blenker, was the
setting for a reception and dance.
A 1970 graduate of Auburndale High School, the bride has been employed by a
Stevens Point Distributing Company. Her husband graduated from the University of
Wisconsin-River Falls, in 1967. He is a vocational agriculture instructor at
Neillsville High School. The couple will live in Neillsville.
