Strey, Anna (27 SEP 1887 – 13 SEP 1969)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton for Mrs. Robert Strey, 81, of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), who died unexpectedly of a heart ailment Saturday while visiting her husband at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated and burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery.

Anna Thomas was born Sept. 27, 1887 in Germany and came to the United States as an infant with her family and settled in Indiana. When she was 11 years old the family moved to a farm in Clark County, Wis.

Her marriage to Robert Strey took place Oct. 28, 1909, in the town of Washburn. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1959. They farmed in the town of York until 1949, when they moved into the city of Loyal.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Elsie Fricke, Milwaukee; Mrs. Helen Domine, Loyal; Mrs. Hazel Seeman, Amery' Mrs. LaVerna Morin, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Norma Potter, Spencer; six sons, Ernest Strey, Spencer; Earlen Strey, Augusta; Raymond Strey, Loyal; Victor Strey, Granton; Ceylon and Robert Strey, both of Milwaukee; 39 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ida Gambel, Loyal.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
