Neumann, Mr./Mrs. John L. (Gold - 4 OCT 1969)
Mr. and Mrs. John L. Neumann, R. 1, Spencer, were honored for their 50th wedding
anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 4th, 1969 with an open house at the Unity Memorial
Hall, with their two children and families, relatives and friends attending. The
hall was decorated with an enlarge wedding picture of the couple, hung in center
stage and a decorated cake, a gift of Harland Powers, Schofield, centered the
lunch table.
The corsage and boutonniere worn by the couple were gifts of the family, who
arranged the celebration. Cards, gifts of money, and other gifts were presented
to the couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Neumann are the parents of a son and daughter, Donald Neumann, R.
1, Spencer, and Mrs. Berry Drnek, Parkridge, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. All were in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Neumann have lived in this area nearly all their married life,
except for a few years spent in Owen and Amherst. They are retired and are
members of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer.
Distant relatives attending were a granddaughter, Mrs. Pat Kyman, Santa Monica,
Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Taft, Davenport, Iowa.
