Granton (16 August 1973)
Granton Homemakers held a potluck picnic Thursday at the home of Mrs. Ray Nowack.
The afternoon was spent playing cards.
Mrs. Otto Anding returned home last Monday after spending the weekend with her
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anding and sons, at Stewartville,
Mn. Sunday, Mrs. Anding accompanied her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Tyler of Marshfield, to Loyal where they visited Mrs. Blanche Schmidt.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jennings were to host the King’s Couples group of Immanuel
United Methodist Church, Chili, on Tuesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm and Mr. and Mrs. Harland Meissner, Bonnie and Brenda of
Chili spent last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Roland Helm and family at a cottage
at Clintonville.
Mr. and Mrs. Manford Cain and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Farnsworth attended the
Friendly Neighbors meeting Friday evening at the home of Esther and Norman
Peterson.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ayala, Vickie, Kay and Nicky, Chicago, Il., arrived last week
for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fero. Vickie and Kay Ayala have
not returned home. Before coming to Granton, Mr. and Mrs. Ayala and Nicky and
Miss Elaine Trimberger spent a week in New York City with his sister and her
family and also visited various places of interest. The Fero’s son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Fero, Milwaukee, were weekend guests at their
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Larson spent from Thursday until Saturday evening with her
mother, Mrs. Elda Bartz. In observance of Mrs. Bartz’ birthday, they were joined
Thursday evening for supper by Mrs. Irene Drescher and Wayne of rural Greenwood.
The Larsons and Mrs. Bartz visited in Eau Claire Friday with the Stanley Larsons
and the Dennis Burkarts.
Mr. and Mrs. James Lautenbach, Rhinelander, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Lautenbach,
Sauk City, were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lautenbach.
Sunday guests also included Joe Felser, Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Marg.
The James Lautenbach’s had just returned from Houston, Tx. They had chaperoned a
group of youths from Granton to a church youth gathering there.
