Boinski, F. Alex (24 Dec 1890 – 28 Jun 1975)
F. Alex Boinski, age 84, of Thorp, died Saturday evening at the Veterans
Hospital at Tomah.
He was born December 24, 1890 in Pennsylvania, son of the late Michael and
Victoria Boinski. Mr. Boinski farmed in the Thorp area until 1942, when he
entered the Veteran’s Hospital at Tomah. A veteran of World War One, he was a
member of the American Legion Post of Thorp.
Mr. Boinski is survived by a brother, Adam, and one sister, Mrs. Marie
Kutnarowski, Golden Age Home, Chippewa Falls.
He wa preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Walter, and one sister,
Josephine.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1st at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, with
Father Bill Puerner officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Grucelski, Casey & Josephine (40th – 22 Jun 1975)
Casey and Josephine Grucelski celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary on
Sunday, June 22, 1975. Father John Puerner was the celebrant at the 11:00 Mass
at St. Hedwig’s Chapel. Roger Truckey was the organist.
After church services, their children hosted open house. Buffet lunch was served
to friends and neighbors attending.
It also was the occasion of a family reunion. Those attending were Joan and Bill
Watters and family from Boling Book, Illinois, Robert and family from Laguna
Hills, California, Eugene and Darlene and family from Plymouth, Wisconsin, Frank
and Sandy and family from Denver, Colorado, and John Grucelski.
Guests attending were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wnek, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bonk, Mr. and
Mrs. Zyg Danielewicz, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Sniegowski, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Mizerka, Mr. and Mrs. Lois Lewan and family.

Marvin R. Ammentorp, formerly of Withee, has been named manager of International
Auditing for N.C.R. Corporation with offices in Augsburg, Germany. Marvin will
have responsibility for directing the internal audit activities for N.C.R. in
Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
He will leave Monday, July 7, 1975 for his two year assignment, accompanied by
his wife Ruth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smigaj, and their two children,
Elizabeth and Daniel. They will live in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany.

News was received here last week of the death of Peter Kaminski, who as a young
man lived at Junction with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaminski Sr.
Funeral services were Saturday in Ohio, where he had resided. He was preceded in
death by his wife.

Gretchen (Wagner) Peters of East Lansing, Michigan, died July 10, 1975 at her
summer home in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 14th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, East
Lansing, Michigan, with burial being made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, East
Lansing, Michigan.
Mrs. Peters was the daughter of William Wagner, founder of the Thorp Courier,
and sister of the late William S. Wagner.

Roger Hendricks of Thorp purchased the Greenwood Pharmacy from Harold Krom on
July 1, 1975. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hendricks of Thorp.
Roger graduated from Thorp High School, receiving a degree from the University
of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in Biology and Chemistry. He then attended the
University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he received a degree in Pharmacy and
Medicine. He spent two years in the Army and also worked for the 3-M Company and
General Mills.
Roger did his intern work under Mr. Krom and received his Pharmacy License in
April 1975.

The Institute for Development of Education Activities, Inc., IDEA, the
educational affiliate of the Charles F. Kettering Foundation, announced that Mr.
Floyd R. Hanley, Principal of Thorp High School, has been named as one of five
hundred outstanding American Educators to participate in a national seminar this
summer.
The IDEA Fellow Institutes are designed to give participants a thorough
grounding in some of the new and emerging problems and practice affecting
secondary education.

of Miss Ginger Lee Gay and Joseph Francis Slota on Saturday, July 5, 1975, with
Father Bill Buchner and Rev. Kurt Sampson performing the four p.m. ceremony.
Guitarist and singer were Miss Mary Ne..?.
Parents of the couple are Mr. Frank Gay Sr. and the late Delia Gay of Withee,
and Mrs. Raymond Izydorek and the late Dr. Bernard R. Slota of Thorp.
