Erickson, Norma J. (29 JUL 1930 – 23 FEB 2015)

Norma Erickson, 84, Neillsville, died on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 26, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Rev. Timothy Biebert will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m., on Thursday, at St. John’s. Casket bearers will be Donald Boon, Allan Boon, Harold Boon, Melvin Boon, Daniel Helwig and Mark Hemp.

Norma Jane Lueck was born on July 29, 1930, in the town of York, Clark County, the daughter of Erick and Elsie (nee Weiting) Lueck. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Christie. She attended Forman Grade School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1948. She then worked for Roddis Plywood Co. until the end of 1951. She married Wallace Erickson on April 7, 1951, and they farmed in the town of York. She also did housework for her sister, Lucille Boon, office work for Boon Construction for 35 years, and she was secretary for Erickson Farms from 1980-2013. She was a member of Neillsville’s St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and its ladies aid. She was a member of the Christie Card Club for 53 years and a 50-year member of the Good Neighbors Homemaker’s Club. She enjoyed sports, bowling and especially playing cards. Norma also traveled to all 50 states.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace; a son, Roger (June) Erickson, Neillsville; a daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Holub, Neillsville; three grandchildren, Travis (Jodi) Erickson, Tony (Beth) Erickson and Tyler (Amanda) Erickson; three step-grandchildren, Edward (Carrie) Holub, Katie Damon and Sarah (Mike) Bergman; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Erickson, Brielle Erickson, Ella Erickson, Alle Erickson and Brock Erickson; eight step-great-grandchildren, Hudzon Sebesta-Opelt, Kimberly Holub, Stephanie Holub, Ashley Holub, Zackery Holub, Terry James Holub, Jaxson Bergman and Jordan Spencer; one great-great-grandson, Zayden Brophy; one sister, Bernita Swieso, Denver, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Gerry Lueck, Neillsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

Memorials may be given to the family in Norma’s name for designation at a later date.
