Crass, Arthur “Art” Allen Jr. (11 JUL 1938 - 21 FEB 2015)
Arthur “Art” Allen Crass, Jr., 76, Medford, died at home on Saturday, February
21, 2015. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 4:00 P.M.
until 7:00 P.M. at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 9:30 A.M. until
the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 25 with Pastor
Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating.
Art Crass was born on July 11, 1938 in Tomahawk to the late Arthur Crass Sr. and
Veronica (Young) Crass. He married Marjorie J. DuPlayee, his high school
sweetheart on November 10, 1956 in Tomahawk.
Art was a graduate of Tomahawk High School and after school he served in the
Wisconsin National Guard and owned dairy farms in Tomahawk and Rural Medford.
Art enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working at the Crass Sawmill after he
retired from dairy farming. He also worked as a rural mail carrier for nearly 15
years. His dog Scoobie was his co-pilot on truck rides. Art was an avid Badger
and Brewer fan. He also enjoyed attending games with his family and friends at
Camp Randall and Miller Park.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Marjorie “Marge”, his dog Scoobie, and his five
children: Linda (Mike) Brandner, Allen (Cindy) Crass, Karen (Mike) Bennett,
Daniel (Stacey) Crass and David Crass, 12 Grandchildren: Damon (Sherry) Brandner,
Doug (Kristi) Brandner, Kyle (Alysa) Brandner, Jeff (Tonya) Crass, Jackie Crass,
Madelyn and Katelyn Bennett, Jake (Callie) Crass, Jordan (Jenn) Crass, Josh
(Brenda) Crass, Sam and Theo Crass and 17 Great-Grandchildren. He is also
survived by siblings: Sherry Thompson, Ron (Jean) Crass, Carol Jarvi and many
Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by
siblings Barry Young, Sandra (Clifford) Steiber and Ken (Georgeanne) Crass.
Art will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Online condolences may
