Poulton, Marion F. (OCT 1906 – 18 DEC 1969)
Marion F. Poulton, resident of Roseville, Min.., and former resident of Loyal
(Clark Co., Wis.), died of a heart attack at Riverview Memorial Hospital in St.
Paul, Minn., Dec. 18, 1969. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in
Roseville Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in St. Paul.
Mr. Poulton, 63, last October, was born in Lerma, Ill. He was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. O.D. Poulton and came to Loyal with his parents in 1909, where he was a
resident until 1932. He was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church in
Roseville, and a past master of Masonic Lodge #15 of Wahpeton, N.D. He had
always been active as a choir director and a leader in church and civic
organizations.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Hanna; two daughters, Mrs. Max (Mary) Potter, and
Mrs. Michael (Ruth) Stevermer, both of Charleston, S.C.; one son, James, a
student at Mankato State College, Mankato, Minn.; and four grandchildren. One
sister, Mrs. Douglas (Dorothy) McPherson of Lake Bluff, Ill., also survives. He
was preceded in death by his mother, in 1955, and by his father in 1968.
Mr. Poulton was a 1925 graduate of Loyal High School, a graduate of Oshkosh
State College, and of Worsham College of Mortuary in Chicago, Ill. At the time
of his death he was associated with O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Directors of
St. Paul, in the Roseville Chapel. Mr. O.D. Poulton, Marion's father, will be
remembered by many as having been the Soo Line agent in Loyal from 1909 until
his retirement in 1947.
