Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Parent and Steve drove to Thorp Sunday to spend the day
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Barrington, and helped him celebrate his
birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Losey of Fairchild called Sunday on Mrs. Anita Markham.
Col. Neil Hein of Chipato Park, Co., who has been visiting his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. F. Hein, left for home Sunday morning.
Supper guests Thursday night at the Bernard Seig home were Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Dignin of Nova, Oh., Mr. and Mrs. Dale Austin of Beloit, Mrs. Theo Blom of Price
and Mrs. Laura Dignin.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice and Mildred were dinner guests Thursday at the Ed
Holub home in rural Hatfield.
Mrs. Myrtle Bunde of Millston spent a few days last week with her granddaughter,
Mrs. Ralph Prindle.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laffe were in La Crose Monday, where she had an appointment
with her optometrist.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Parks and family of Marshfield were weekend guests of her
mother, Mrs. Edith Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby, accompanied by Mesdames Maude Newton, Anita Markham
and Harriette Gorst, drove to Hixton Friday evening to attend the Eastern Star
services held for Mrs. Alvin Dunn.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nelson and Mrs. Kate Van Horn of rural Humbird visited
Monday afternoon at the Arnold Matti home.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hines of Bemidji, Mn, were overnight guests Sunday of her
sister, Mrs. Kate Dignin.
Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Losey of Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe,
Charles Wendt of Eau Claire, Nordahl Fristad and Maude Newton, members of the
local O.E.S. attended the reception held in Neillsville honoring Ruth Van Gorden.
Claire Everson of Alma Center was here Thursday afternoon to call at the Arnold
Matti home.
Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Sieg of Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Austin of Beloit and
Mrs. Laura Dignin were supper guests Satruday at the Bernard Sieg home in honor
of the birthday of the Sieg’s daughter, Jill.
A pre-nuptial shower was held Sunday in the local park honoring Art Walker and
his fiancée of Chetek. A large group of relatives and close friends attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson spent Sunday afternoon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Zuehlke, in Loyal.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hein of Hanover, Il., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Perle
Pickett Thursday and Friday.
Randy Stanley is having a house put up and Mrs. Emma Gerber was out to see the
building to up, Monday. It was an interesting sight.
Mrs. Minnie Nelson returned Wednesday from Colorado, where she spent several
weeks with her sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett attended the funeral of Mrs. Alvin Dunn in Osseo
Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Aeschbacher spent Sun day at the home of her brother, Truman
Dunn, in Millston.
Mrs. Violet Schmitz and Tim of Cadott called Thursday at the home of Mrs. Emma
Gerber.
Mrs. Frieda Zerbel is having a new well drilled.
Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett were in Neillsville Sunday evening to call on Fred
Rupnow, who is in the hospital. They found him getting along very well and
suffering no pain in his hip.
Wednesday a group of 12 Happy Hour Homemakers drove to La Crosse and there
enjoyed a two hour boat trip up the Mississippi River.
Mr. Leland Duxbury was a supper and afternoon guest of her mother, Mrs. Frank
Ziegler, in Black River Falls Sunday.
Mr and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman, Lowell Shatswere and Dennis Wallace spent the
weekend on a fishing trip to Minocqua.
Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips and Marion spent the weekend in the Art Allen home in
Wisconsin Rapids.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Smith and Kerry and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Englebretson and Samon
of Spencer were visitors Sunday at the home of Mrs. Matti Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Senske and family of New Ulm, Mn, visited from Tuesday to
Thursday with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby.
Miss Kathy Seelow of Milwaukee was a guest for a few days at the home of her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby drove to St. Cloud, Mn last weekend to attend a family
reunion of her people and was an overnight guest Sunday at the home of their
daughter, Mrs. Everett Senske, in St. Paul.
