Eulah N. Lane (18 October 1924 - 15 February 2015)
Eulah N. (Walter) Lane, 90, formerly of Stanley, died on Sunday, February 15,
2015, at home in Lake Hallie under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was
born on October 18, 1924, in Almond, WI, to the late Joseph R. and Mabelle (Keffner)
Walter. Eulah grew up in Almond and married the late George B. Lane of Stanley.
She graduated from Central State Teachers’ College (now UW-Stevens Point) in
1946. She taught music in Loyal from 1946-1948, worked for the Thorp School
District and then the Stanley-Boyd School district from 1965 until her
retirement in 1987.
Eulah’s passion and talent for music lead her to perform as a church choir
director during college and as a vocal soloist for many years.
Eulah is survived by her daughter, Pamela, of lake Hallie; and by many nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; her brothers:
Donald J. and Robert H. Walter; and her sister, Grace (Walter) Boriin.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Plombon
Funeral Home, Stanley. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation
was from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to services Saturday, all
at the funeral home.
