Granton (30 August 1973)

Mrs. Otto Schmidtke spent the weekend in Plainfield with the Rev. and Mrs. Wendell Bennetts. Rev. Bennetts is a former pastor of the York Center and Loyal United Methodist churches. On Sunday, she took Rev. Bennetts to the Adams County Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for tests and observation. Mrs. Schmidtke returned home Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wirkuty and sons, Douglas and Justin, of Harrisburg, Or, are visiting at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lueck of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wirkuty of Granton. They also attended funeral services for Mrs. Wirkuty’s grandmother, Mrs. Hellen Ostling, August 18, in Neillsville.

Dr. and Mrs. Russell Gardner, Jr., and family of Teaneck, N. J., Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Gardner and family of Savannah, Ga., and Keith Gardner and his fiancée, Miss Suzanne Munro, Madison, have returned to their homes after visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gardner, Sr. On July 29, when all family members were home together, an open house for other relatives was held at the parental Gardner home.

Mrs. Grace Paulson of Walla Walla, Wa, and a friend are visiting in the area.

Mrs. Arnold Garbisch spent last week in Woodstock, Il, with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wenck. The Wencks brought her home Friday and all attended the 25th anniversary open house Saturday honoring Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Barth. Mr. and Mrs. Wenck returned to Woodstock Sunday.

Mrs. William Schmidtke spent several days visiting with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eskil Erickson, and with the Gene Turner family in Rockford, Il.
