Mrs. LaVerne Volp and son, Lee, Omro, visited several days last week with her
mother Mrs Gus Carl.
Mrs. Robert Czarnik has returned home to Lemont, Il., after spending a week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bergen Smith. The Smiths’ son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Smith and family, Milwaukee, are spending a week with them and
with her mother, Mrs. Ina Williams. Another son, Darwin, if beginning his fifth
year of teaching in the Osseo School system; his wife will teach in Altoona this
year.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomsen, former Neillsville residents now living in Oregon,
and their daughter and her family spent several days earlier this week visiting
in the area.
The Keith Bennett family of Lake Zurich, Il., is spending several days with his
parents, Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bennett.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lea, Stevens Point, visited Sunday with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Markwardt.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Yankee and children, Mark, Lori and Tanya, of Beloit spent a
few days last week with Mrs. Mary Yankee and with friends and relatives in
Marshfield and Augusta.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Zerbel, Humbird, visited last Wednesday evening with her
mother, Mrs. Oscar Kuenkel, and Mrs. Kuenkel’s daughter, son-in-law and
grandson, Mr and Mrs. Tony Ulesich and Frank of Willard, spent Thursday with
her. The Ulesich’s daughter, Mrs. Wayne Foemmel, and her children left August 14
to return to California after and extended visit with relatives in this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Swann and Mrs. Walter Borde of Albion, who were called
here by the Alfred Carl funeral Friday, visited with Mrs. Gus Carl and other
relatives in the area.
Mr. and Mrs. John C. Brandt visited for several days with family members in
Oshkosh.
Labor Day weekend guests at the Bergen Smith home were expected to be Mrs.
Gladys Parrett of West Allis, Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Smith and sons of Rockford,
Il., and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Smith of Racine.
