Krultz, Victoria A. "Vicki" (21 MAY 1921 – 24 FEB 2015)
Victoria A. "Vicki" Krultz, 93, Greenwood, passed away at her home on Tuesday,
Feb. 24, 2015. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 2, at
Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Steve Brice officiated. Burial
followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Galiger, Robert Reineke,
Rodney Reineke, Deborah Krultz, Adam Krultz, Jenn Krultz, Justin Koschak and
Brian Greenwald. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Krultz and Michael Brierton.
Victoria Angela Bukovec was born on May 21, 1921 in Willard, the daughter of
Joseph and Louise (nee Sterbanc) Bukovec. She was raised on the family farm and
received her education at North Willard School. Vicki married Selvian A. Krultz
on Dec. 30, 1939, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chicago. She worked at
Brach Candy Company before the birth of her first child. In 1943, they moved to
Greenwood, where they purchased a dairy farm. While raising children and helping
out on the farm, Vicki also helped Selvian with his business selling and
installing Badger barn equipment. In 1982, they retired, sold the farm to their
son, David, and built a new house, where she has resided since. She was a member
of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood, and a former member of Holy Family
Catholic Church in Willard. Vicki also belonged to the K.S.K.J. Lodge and the
Slovenian Women's Union Branch #102, where she was the 2005 Mother of the Year.
She was very involved with her children, and was a 4-H food leader for 10 years.
She also demonstrated making apple strudel for area homemaker's clubs. Vicki had
many interests, but especially enjoyed crocheting, quilt-making, baking,
reading, gardening, traveling the U.S. and abroad, and collecting calendar
plates. Since her retirement, her hobbies and children kept her busy. On any
given Sunday, her driveway was filled with a number of cars from whichever
children made it home to visit. Her life was blessed with a good family and good
friends in the community.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Dorothy (John Miller) Galiger, Sun
Lakes, Ariz., Donna Reineke, New Berlin, Edward Krultz, Greenwood, Ralph Krultz,
Greenwood, Gary Krultz, Greenwood, Barb (Steve) Koschak, Madison, Bonnie (Tom)
Brierton, Junction City, and Jana (Gary) Greenwald, Marshfield; 17
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Krultz,
Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Selvian, on Dec. 19,
2001; one son, David, on Oct. 30, 2002; a son-in-law, Jim Reineke; two
daughters-in-law, Judy Krultz and Barbara Krultz; six sisters, Mary Rozich,
Catherine Chimiel, Louise Bukovec, Margaret Winecki, Anne Brunke and Emily
Knepper; and four brothers, Joseph, John, Albert and Edward Bukovec.
Vicki's family asks that donations be made in her name for a memorial to be
established at a later date.
