Blenker, Marguerite D. (Hofmann) (10 OCT 1915 - 11 FEB 2015)
Marguerite D. Blenker, 99, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Strawberry Lane
Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids.
She was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Enderlin, N.D., to Ernst and Emily (Freiheit)
Hofmann where she attended a country grade school and then graduated from high
school. After her education she helped take care of people and did housework in
different places.
She was united in marriage to John L. Blenker on Nov. 15, 1934, in North Dakota.
He died on Oct. 25, 1986. After their marriage, the Blenkers moved to Milan
where they worked on a farm. They bought their own farm during the depression
and retired later to Marshfield.
Mrs. Blenker is survived by her children, Rev. Ambrose Blenker, La Crosse,
Ellouise (Earl) Heil, Mosinee, Gerald (Jean) Blenker, Athens, Lucy Vaughan,
Prescott Valley, Ariz., Kathleen Schug, Wisconsin Rapids, and Raymond Blenker,
Madison; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen
Doeling, North Dakota.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; four grandchildren; two
brothers, Theodore and Sonny; and a sister, Erna Rens.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 16, 2015, at St. John’s Catholic
Church, Marshfield, with her son Rev. Ambrose Blenker, Rev. Samuel Martin and
Rev. Charles Hiebl concelebrating.
Burial took place in St. Kilian’s Cemetery, Blenker. Memorials may be designated
in her name to St. John’s Parish, Marshfield.
