Koenig, Laura J. (Eno) (15 DEC 1960 - 11 FEB 2015)

Laura J. Koenig, 54, Athens, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

She was born Dec. 15, 1960, in Lincoln, Neb., to Charles and Karen Sue (Hyman) Eno. She attended Wausau West High School and Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield for two years.

She was united in marriage to Todd O. Koenig on Feb. 10, 1978, in Wausau. Throughout her life Mrs. Koenig possessed many positions from restaurant services to bookkeeping for area farm agencies. She and her husband farmed in the Stratford area until moving to Athens in 1990 where they continued to farm until the present time.

She is survived by her husband, Todd; daughter, Kristi Oertel, Stratford; two granddaughters; her parents, Charles and Karen Sue Eno, Wausau; grandfather, Richard Hyman, Galveston, Ind.; a brother, Charles (Beth) Eno, II, Merrill; and two sisters, Joyce Eno, Wausau, and Debra (Todd) Evers, Aniwa.

Mrs. Koenig is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Hyman; paternal grandfather, Leon Eno; and paternal grandmother, Leota Eno.

A funeral service was held Feb. 16, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, with Pastor Sue Eidahl presiding. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in the Village of Stratford.

Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford assisted the family with the arrangements.
