Mrs. Ralph Ystad, Mrs. David Danielson of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and Mrs.
Wilton Karlan and Mrs. Douglas Missling, Mrs. Uno Kolpanen, Mrs. James Peterson,
Mrs. Emory Sorenson and daughter, Janice, and Mrs. Loren Miller of the Emmanuel
Lutheran Church attended the American Lutheran Church women’s retreat held
Wednesday and Thursday at Chetek.
Mr. and Mrs. David Friske and daughter, Kim, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske, and
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske and daughter, Faye, of Whitehall, were entertained
Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burt Wells in Marshfield, in celebration of
his birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Albertson, their son-in-law and daughter of Blanchardville,
were Tuesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Danielson.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schmidt and Bernard Friske are attending a horse show in
Oklahoma City, Ok.
Mrs. Otto Voie, Mrs. David Danielson, Mrs. Louise Ellingson, and Mrs. Florence
Schwarze spent Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Stella Gordee at the Melvin
Alperstett home.
Mrs. Harlan Brux, Judith, Monica and Mark, left Monday to spend a few days at
the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Horton, in Madison.
Gilbert Dill arrived from Cedarburg Monday to visit his mother, Mrs. Lydia Dill,
and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kaltinger and son, John, of Elmhurst, Il., spent the weekend
at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger. Mrs.
John Kaltinger, Sr., who spent three weeks in Chicago with her children,
returned with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson and children, Debbie, Larry and Brad, returned to
Arlington Heights, Il., after spending the weekend with his sister, Mrs. Jake
Barr and Mrs. Howard Susa and their families.
Mrs. Clara Gray is spending some time at Maple Lake, Mn, with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Gendreau.
Alfred Marvin returned to Janesville Tuesday after visiting since Friday at the
home of his mother, Mrs. Hugh Christie, and with his brother, Kenneth Marvin and
family.
Mrs. William Kuester, Mrs. Lydia Dill, Miss Loretta Kuester and Gilbert Dill of
Cedarburg were guests Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mitte in Globe.
Mrs. Leslie Reinke and sister, Linda, were dinner guests Wednesday of Mr. and
Mrs. Norbert Kuester and visited at the Erwin Toburen home and with other
relatives before returning to Cleveland.
The birthdays of Mrs. Amy Hendrickson and Mrs. Margaret Whitley were celebrated
Tuesday afternoon in the activity room of the Black River apartments, where they
both reside. The afternoon was spent in playing games, after which a potluck
supper was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester and children spent several days recently at Lake
Solberg, near Phillips.
Mr. and Mrs. Hillman Preston of Richland Center spent three days at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart recently.
Monday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger were Mr. and Mrs. Val Krainz
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krainz and Mr. and Mrs. Allan Harbort and sons,
Michael and James of Elm Grove.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart were weekend guests of their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Humke, in Rochester, Mn.
Mrs. Bertha Dallman, Mrs. James Metcalf and Mrs. Grace Metcalf spent from
Thursday until Monday with their son and brother, Dale Metcalf and family at
Random Lake, and at the Ed Dallman home in Lomira. Mrs. Grace Metcalf also
visited her daughter, Carol, in Sheboygan.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mathes and son, Jim, of Wauwatosa, were supper guests Friday
at the John Kaltinger home.
Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mrs. Eleanor Plank were Mrs. Martha Schwarze
and Mrs. Minnie Laube of Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Durward Schwarze of Granton.
Miss Brenda Brown of Minneapolis was a visitor Saturday at the John Kaltinger
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kline of Alben, Ia., former residents of Greenwood, visited
Wednesday at the hoem of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Christie and with other friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson and family of Arlington Heights, Il., and Mrs. Jake
Barr, visited Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Eleanor Plank and with their
aunt, Mrs. George Vollrath.
John Jakobi has been dismissed from the hospital in Marshfield, where he was a
surgical patient.
Mrs. Irvin Carl, Robert Carl and daughter, Toni Rae, attended the funeral of
Clarence Strum Wednesday morning in Manawa.
Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Nichols and daughter, Kim, have returned to Wilmette, Il.,
after spending the weekend at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Olaf Johnson,
and with other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Horn and son, Gary, of La Crosse, and Mrs. Ronald Hall of
West Bend, have returned to their homes after a week’s visit at the home of
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Horn.
Mrs. R. B. Fahim and daughter, Melanie, arrived from Detroit Monday for a
two-week visit at the home of her mother, Mrs. Irvin Carl and with her brother,
Robert Carl and family.
Mrs. Gust Horn and Mrs. Hubert Horn visited Monday with Mrs. Herman Doege.
