Washburn (6 September 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kyle entertained about 42 relatives Sunday recently at a
family reunion. There were relatives from Milwaukee, Ellsworth, Stanley, Gilman,
Racine, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire and Eden Prairie, Mn.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz, Jr., of Wind Lake spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
John Reinart and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reinart. They were returning home from their
honeymoon.
Mr and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended the Neillsville Senior Citizens picnic at
Snyder’s Lake Tuesday noon. The afternoon was spent playing cards, visiting,
etc.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trushinski of Milwaukee recently spent several days visiting
their friends, Mrs. Neil Meddaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Meddaugh and family.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Oshkosh were Monday evening and overnight guests
of her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short. They had spent several days with
relatives at Manitowish Waters and enjoyed some fishing.
Ernest Kissling and daughter, Vicki, drove to Green Bay, Saturday, where they
attended the packers’ game Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Louie Matousek of Lewisville, Tx., arrived Wednesday to visit her
mother, Mrs. Frank Short at Memorial Home, her brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Short and other relatives.
Dr. and Mrs. Ell (Skip) Lee and family of Green Bay spent the weekend with her
mother, Mrs. Harry Kissling and attended a class reunion Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Sandy DeHart visited their sister-in-law, Mrs. Art Odell, Wednesday
evening.
George Meddaugh of Iron Ridge, spent several days recently with his sister, Mrs.
Harry Kissling, Mrs. Neil Meddaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Meddaugh, and Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Kissling.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short were dinner guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Reinart. Mr Reinart accompanied the Shorts to Black River Falls Tuesday morning,
where Mr. Short had dental work done.
Jack Kapfer and a friend of Janesville spent the Labor Day weekend with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Kissling.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz of Wind Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dahnert, Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Reinart, and Ken Lonning were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John
Reinart in honor of his birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Misory and family have returned to Milwaukee after mrs.
Misory and children spent a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kyle. Mr.
Misory spent the weekend at the Kyle home and they all attended the Kyle reunion
at the Lawrence Kyle home.
Mrs. Delores McNeil and Mrs. Mars and daughter of Streamwood, Il., returned home
Thursday after spending several days with Mrs. McNeil’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Havlicek. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Havlicek and family and Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Havlicek and family spent Wednesday evening with the parents also.
Mrs. Ernest Kissling spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Everett Pepper, and
sister, Mrs. Betty Kapfer, in Janesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Ray of Chicago recently spent several days with Mr. and Mrs.
Oliver Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Mr. and Mrs. Williams spent a night in the
Nathan Vandeberg cottage at Hatfield.
Rocky Galbreath of Nekoosa called Sunday at the Mrs. Art Odell home.
Mrs. Albert Lincoln attended a bridal shower honoring Olga Zelenyj at her home
Sunday.
The Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Schram and daughter of Alma Center were recent visitors
at the Albert Lincoln home. They plan to start Bible study again in a few weeks.
Mrs. Peter Misory drove to La Crosses last week Tuesday and visited friends and
her sister, Sister Willa, until Thursday.
Wayne and La Verne Vandeberg of Wisconsin Rapids returned home Thursday night
after spending three weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg were supper guests of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Williams, and their sons returned home with them. Their school didn’t
start until the Tuesday after Labor Day.
Mr. and Mrs. William (Bud) Ewers and daughter, Betty, Santa Ana, Ca., returned
home Monday after spending a couple of weeks visiting his brothers-in-law and
sisters, Mr and Mrs. Clarence Reinart and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wallace.
Jean Lincoln, who is employed in Minneapolis, arrived home last Thursday evening
to spend the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln, Lorraine and
Norma Lincoln, also of Minneapolis, arrived Saturday and also spent the weekend
with them.
Mrs. Merle Austin called on Mrs. Art Odell Tuesday evening.
Mr and Mrs. Bruce Spiegel are having a new thermo pane picture window put in
their living room. Their son, David is doing the work. David has attended
Architect school in Marshfield for two years and after Labor Day will go to
Milwaukee, where he will take a four-year course in architecture.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schultz and family of Franksville camped at Hatfield last
week. They spent Monday with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart, and
Richard assisted with baling hay. They were supper guests Tuesday of Mr. and
Mrs. Dale Reinart.
Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and daughter Judy, Kent Lonning and Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Reinart picnicked with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schultz at their camp at Hatfield
Sunday evening.
