Martin, Emma (7 February 1877 - 2 September 1973)
A native of the Globe area, Mrs. Emma Martin of New Ulm, Mn, died Sunday at
Loreto Hospital there at the age of 96. Funeral services were to be held
Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev.
Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was to be in the Neillsville City
Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
Born February 7, 1877, at Globe to August and Augusta (Klueckmann) Kalsow, Mrs.
Martin was educated in area schools and worked in the Western states as a young
woman. She was married in Denver, Co, to Charles Martin, who preceded her in
death. Mrs. Martin also worked in Racine, and returned in 1938 to Neillsville
where she was employed by Dr. Leason before her retirement. A member of St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, she had lived in Minnesota for the past
eight years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Myrtle) Semmelman of Lake Forest,
Il., and a son-in-law, Prof. Oscar Siegler of New Ulm, Mn; five grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Martha
Hoffmann and Mrs. Paul (Theresa) Klauer of Neillsville; and by two brothers, C.
W. Kalsow of Neillsville and Edward Kalsow of Granton.
