Shugart, Freda (17 September 1903 - 29 August 1973)

A Neillsville native, Mrs. Lewis G. Shugart, 69, of Wisconsin Rapids, died August 29, at St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point, after becoming ill at her home the previous morning. Funeral services were held Saturday from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Shugart, the former Freda Wagner, was born September 17, 1903, in Neillsville to Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wagner, operators of the Merchants Hotel. She was a 1923 graduate of Neillsville High School and attended the 50-year reunion of the class held June 9, of this year. Mrs. Shugart was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 9 and of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s clubs.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles A. Wilke, Green Bay, and Mrs. Myron Hill, Clearwater, Fl.
