Free, Cindy Lou (Marriage - 1 September 1973)

The Neillsville United Church of Christ was the setting Satruday, September 1, for the marriage of Miss Cindy Lou Free and Melvin E. Boon. The 3 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Gary Clark. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Free, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boon, Rt. 1 Greenwood.

A bouffant gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta featuring a Sabrina neckline, long sleeves and a skirt flowing into a chapel train was chosen by the bride. Her matching lace-edged veil was held by a Juliet cap. She carried an arrangement of white and pink roses as she was given in marriage by her father.

Honor attendant Joy Mitte, Neenah, and bridesmaids Sandy Smock, Oshkosh, and Caroline Raine, Neillsville, were gowned in fashions of orchid organza styled with bouffant, ruffle-tiered skirts edged in lace and complimented by matching picture hats. They carried fans bedecked with deep purple flowers.

Serving as bestman was Allan Boon, Greenwood. Groomsmen were Michael Smock, Oshkosh, and John Raine. Guests were seated by Duane Boon, Greenwood, and Tom Free.

Soloist Julie Schmidt was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Wayne Zoutendam.

A reception was held in the church parlors.

The bride and groom are both graduates of Neillsville High School. The former Miss Free is employed as a teller at a local bank and her husband is associated with his family’s construction company.

The newlyweds will live in Neillsville following their return from a Western wedding trip.
