North Grant (1 Aug 1918)
Ted Selves’ mother was housekeeping for him during the absence of his wife on
her trip to Wyoming.
Miss Margaret Hughes is visiting her brother, Jim, and family.
Henry Pischer, while blue-berrying near Prey last week, had the misfortune to
lose a horse. The animals got loose and strayed away. One was soon found, but
the other, after three days’ search, is still missing. The party of four was
obliged to make their way as far as F. Kier’s with a surrey and one horse, where
they got another horse to help them home.
Haying is about finished and harvesting has begun. A large crowd went to
Neillsville Friday to see the boys entrain for camp, who left that day in answer
to their country’s call.
F. Kier and T. Selves began harvesting in York early this week.
