Columbia (8 Aug 1918)
Alfred Wright and family of Fond du Lac arrived Saturday evening by auto for a
couple of weeks visit with his mother, Mrs. Emma Wright, and other relatives.
Mrs. Albert Novak is entertaining her sister from St. Paul this week.
Three Neillsville mail carriers and two from Granton were here to attend the
Bohnhoff funeral.
Mrs. Ted Bornholdt came down from Neillsville to attend the funeral of Fred
Bohnhoff.
Roy Iverson has moved onto the Lithold place, more commonly known as the Leve
place. He will work for Mr. Lithold. The Keran family, who have been living
there, have returned to Las Crosse, as their son, Harry, has been called for
military service.
Charles Ehlert was quite ill last week and under the doctor’s care, but is
reported better at this writing.
We are glad to hear that Mrs. Ted Bornholdt has been hired to teach our school
again the coming year. She has tAught here the past four years and we are all
glad to welcome her back.
School meetings for letting of the school rigs were held Saturday evening. The
following will be our rig drivers for the coming year: Henry Schwedland, Frank
Putz, Theo, Bornholdt and Lee Sweetland
